Promise1000
Youth Fund
Join hundreds of youth across Canada by doing something meaningful for your community
If you need inspiration, this site has dozens of examples of things you can do, with some tips on how you can get started for each one
What is YouthFund Canada?
YouthFund Canada helps youth (ages 15-30) across the Greater Toronto Area improve their communities. We inspire, train, and fund youth to implement ideas they have to make a difference in their communities.
Need some inspiration?
Check out below for examples of things that other YouthFund participants have done in their communities:
Run a weekly tech training program for seniors in your community
Bring together community members and do art workshops
Organize a community clean-up with people of all ages
Organize a workshop, such as a résumé workshop or for financial literacy
Buy and distribute back-to-school bags for low-income children
Run science experiments to build STEM skills and inspire an interest in STEM
Host a BBQ or potluck for newcomers in your community
Create and give out Health & Well-being activity books to new Canadians
Teach neighbours about the environment and get them to trade their used batteries for Timbits (so that you can properly recycle old batteries)
Do you want to participate and get funding to run your own project?
We provide youth with training and mentorship to teach idea development, project management, budgeting, and other useful skills to help all funded initiatives be as successful as possible
Got an idea you want to implement? Submit your project idea to our team to review
We deliver our own training programs to youth, and we also partner with youth organizations to co-deliver training to their youth participants
We have dozens of project ideas, with tips for getting each one started, that you can look at for inspiration
Promise1000 is funded in part by Canada Service Corps, a national movement that empowers youth aged 15–30 to gain experience and build important skills while giving back to their community. Learn more at Canada.ca/CanadaServiceCorps
