Promise1000
Youth Fund

Join one thousand youth across Canada by doing something meaningful for your community

Youth ages 15-30 can apply to join a leadership program and get funding to run their own project

What is Promise1000 Youth Fund?

Promise1000 Youth Fund launched in July 2023 and helps youth (ages 15-30) across the Greater Toronto Area, and other select regions in Canada, improve their communities. We inspire, train, and fund youth to implement ideas they have to make a difference in their communities.

Our goal is to provide funds to 1,000 youth who 'promise' to make a positive difference in their communities. To date, we have supported over 150 youth.

How it works

Attend one of our youth leadership camps. You'll get trained in idea development, project planning, budgeting, and more. Camps last 4-5 days, and include small group training and one-on-one coaching. Our next leadership camps are in July 2024. There are online and in-person (in Toronto) options available.

Apply for funding. Grants range from $50 to $500, but can be more depending on your project. You'll continue to get one-on-one support as you organize your project.

Extra perks when you complete your project. You'll get a reference letter, volunteer hours for your school and résumé, access to scholarships and job opportunities within our organization, certificate of completion, and more.

Don't have an idea? That's Ok!

Check out our database of project ideas. We have a hundred project ideas for you to look through for inspiration, each with tips for getting each one started.

Get help from our team. You can apply for a leadership camp without knowing what you want to do. Our team will help you come up with something that's meaningful to you.

There are so many possible projects. Here are some examples

You could give books and school supplies to kids who need them

How about a sports tournament?

Perhaps a movie night or video game tournament to build friends and destress?

You could organize professional training for you and others, like learning CPR

You could put together food boxes for families who need them

Bring others together and do a community clean-up day, with prizes

Got an idea you want to implement? Submit your project idea to our team to review. Please submit a project proposal only after attending one of our leadership camps, or after speaking with a member of our team

We deliver our own training programs to youth, and we also partner with youth organizations to co-deliver training to their youth participants

Promise1000 is funded in part by Canada Service Corps, a national movement that empowers youth aged 15–30 to gain experience and build important skills while giving back to their community. Learn more at Canada.ca/CanadaServiceCorps
