Community Clean Up
Promote teamwork, passion, and environmentalism through hosting a community cleanup event! Make your local park a cleaner, safer, and lovelier with your friends and the youth in your neighbourhood. Your community will be grateful and the environment too!
How might this help your community?
The goal here is to have the youth in your community to come together and spend time cleaning in the park as the whole neighbourhood will benefit from this clean-up.
This will give the youth a sense of pride and ownership over the neighbourhood and their beautiful park. This project can give the youth a meaningful volunteer opportunity while showing care and taking action towards protecting the environment.
This will be a fun event and a great time for youth to bond while feeling good for doing a kind deed for their community and the environment.

Suggested Action Plan
Text friends who would want to be leaders of this event with you and inform them when and where the event will take place.
Shop for the cleaning materials such as gloves, garbage bags, and grabber tools.
Create, print and distribute flyers throughout the neighbourhood to advertise the event. Post an online flyer in social media platforms.
Arrive early to the park at the meet-up spot, set up the snacks and drinks table with friends and the cleaning materials, so that they are easy to hand out.
Form a buddy system for the youth so that they are accompanied and will be guided throughout the cleanup.
Clean up the park with the folks who show up.
Give prizes to people who participate: for example, a prize for who collects the bag that weighs the most, and a prize for who fills the most number of bags.
