Our next leadership camps are in Spring 2026, in-person and/or virtually
Encourage togetherness and promote awareness about the rich culture of a community through a cooking class! Members of your community can have the opportunity to discover how to cook appetizing food, and also learn more about the stories of your cultural event leaders.
This event will teach people in your community about local communities. There are many individuals who are unfamiliar with the different foods that make up your community, and this cooking class can allow others in your area to learn more and gain an appreciation.
Community members will not only learn a delicious recipe or two, but also develop understanding and friendships with others.
Inside a community centre’s kitchen
On a morning
Contact your local community centre about using their kitchen space. Book a date.
Find a few cooks to lead the event and ask them if they can connect you to others that would be interested in participating. You can try contacting local restaurants, teachers, etc.
Schedule a meeting with the event leader(s) to plan out the details of the event.
Create and print a flyer for advertising the event to local residents. Post the posters around the neighbourhood and advertise on social media.
