Our next leadership camps are in Summer 2025, in-person in downtown Toronto and online
Promote recycling practices and environmentalism by getting recycling and compost bins for low-income residents! Many buildings do not have recycling or compost facilities, and only have garbage chutes- break this cycle by giving the residents of these buildings the opportunity to recycle and compost!
The aim of this event is to provide low-income residents with the adequate resources needed for recycling and composting. It will especially aid those without access to participating in the recycling/composting processes.
This will be beneficial to those who live in buildings with no recycling or composting facilities, and those who can't afford recycling or composting bins. Recycling and composting are processes that are good for the environment, so everyone should have access to participate.

A building to donate the recycling compost bins to
Find and contact residential buildings with no recycling/composting facilities.
Research municipal recycling/composting recommendations and regulations. See what recycling/composting facilities are closest to the residential building you chose.
Once you have finalized a residential building, contact the building manager to ask how many residents do not have recycling/composting bins already.
Create, print, and distribute flyers in your local community, asking members to donate any extra recycling/composting bins they may have. Set a drop-off location and a date for people to donate their bins.
After collecting the bins, purchase more bins if necessary. If too many residents need bins, try getting one larger recycling/composting bin for every floor.
Once you've collected all the recycling/composting bins, distribute them at the building you chose!
