Organizing a blanket drive helps provide warmth and comfort to individuals experiencing homelessness. Youth collect, organize, and distribute blankets to support community members during colder seasons.
Provides essential warmth and comfort
Raises awareness about homelessness
Encourages compassion and civic responsibility among youth
This project allows youth to meet immediate needs while learning about housing insecurity in their community.
Fall and winter months
Schools, community centres, or places of worship
Partner with a local shelter or outreach organization.
Decide whether to collect new or gently used blankets.
Promote the drive through flyers and social media.
Set up collection bins in accessible locations.
Sort and organize donated blankets.
Deliver donations to the partner organization.
