Youth organize a project to support individuals who are learning English by providing dictionaries, translation tools, or peer tutoring. This project helps reduce language barriers and supports learning and inclusion.
Supports newcomers and English language learners
Builds communication and cultural understanding
Helps youth develop teaching and leadership skills
This project gives youth the opportunity to make education more accessible for community members who may face language barriers.
After school or on weekends
Libraries, schools, newcomer centres, or community spaces
Identify who the project will support (students, newcomers, families).
Partner with a school or community organization serving English learners.
Gather dictionaries, notebooks, or translation materials.
Recruit youth volunteers to support learning and conversation practice.
Schedule regular sessions or one-time workshops.
Collect feedback and adjust the program as needed.
