Our next leadership camps are in Spring 2025, in-person in downtown Toronto and online
Promote community bonding by hosting a fun, BBQ mixer. Often, people do not seem to know their neighbours well, if at all - break this cycle by bringing members of your community together and getting to know one another over a delicious meal!
The goal is to get members of the community to connect and form bonds with one another. The BBQ makes for a fun atmosphere where people can do exactly that.
After the pandemic, people have gotten increasingly isolated. This will encourage members of the neighbourhood to get to know each other, and ultimately foster a sense of community.
During a sunny summer afternoon
At a local park
Find a local park to host the BBQ. Check the weather, and set a date.
Create, print and distribute flyers for the event. Indicate that bringing your own dishes is welcome.
Ensure attendees sign- up through text, email, or Google Forms. Make sure attendees indicate any food restrictions.
See if any of the attendees can provide a BBQ and any necessary tools. If not, you may have to rent.
Based on the number of sign-ups, buy an appropriate amount of food. Make sure to include halal and veggie/vegan options.
